“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it”. Matthew 16: 25
Do you count your life dear to yourself that you can’t release it for God to use, do you desire always to save your life, are you so fixed and too careful about your life? Attitude like this will make you to be rigid with God and with life. Someone says “it’s risky not to take a risk”. Counting your life dear to yourself will not make you to take risk with God and for God. Paul’s attitude in Acts 20: 22- 24, is an attitude of someone that do not count his life to himself but releases it for God and for his purpose in life. It’s an attitude of a champion, an achiever and a leader.
“And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there; except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God”.
Even in the face of trials, difficulties, and tribulations, Paul was determined to finish his race (course) and his ministry (purpose) in life. Nothing was too big to stop him. Hear what he said toward the end of his life.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing”. 2Timothy 4: 7- 8
Paul was able to finish his race in life because he did not count his life dear to himself. Friends, I encourage you today to release your life for God, yes you will face trials, challenges and tribulations in life but do not let this set back stop you from fulfilling your purpose in life. Be encourage with the life of Paul, because faithful is He that called you and who will surely see you through to the end.
Dear to lose your life for the Lord Jesus and I assure you, you will find it. Today He is calling you, will you hear His voice and answer Him. He has prepared a crown of righteousness for you. But you can only receive it if you love Him and you have accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour.
Friends, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour means you are no longer counting your life dear to yourself but you are ready to lose your life for Him to be the Lord of your life, to be the one that now have the control of your life. You are now His slave, slave to obey His leading and to be totally obedient to Him in all things.
Jesus loves you that is why He gave His life for you. He did not count His life dear to Himself but lose it on the cross so that your life may be save. Today you can receive what He has done for you on the cross by letting Him be the Lord of your life.
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” 2Corinthians 5: 21. Jesus became sin for you on the cross so that you will receive and become the righteousness of God.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life” John 3: 16.
