“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, ‘Your servant my husband is dead, and you know your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be slaves.’ So Elisha said to her, ‘What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house? And she said, ‘Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.’ Then he said, ‘Go borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbours- empty vessels; do not gather just a few. ‘And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.’ So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, ‘Bring me another vessel.’ And he said to her ‘There is not another vessel.’ So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God, And he said, Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and yours sons live on the rest.” 1 King
Most of the time God doesn’t use what is on the outside to bless us, but uses that which is in our hand to bless and enlarge us. The little thing you think you have, put it into use and it will multiply and grow just like you plant a seed and it grows.
As we enlarge our capacity for possibility to make use of our skills, talents, our calling etc. that is how it will be multiplying. The oil didn’t stop until there are no more vessels.
Today, God is asking you “What can I do for you” just has Elisha asked the widow and God is given you a clue- “What do you have in your hand so I can bless you”. God is committed to blessing you; in fact He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1: 3). The challenge is for our eyes to be open to that which God has given us. But the truth is that it’s only in Christ Jesus you can realize all that God has for you. That is why you need to give your life to the Lord Jesus and let Him be your Lord and Saviour, so that when you call upon Him you will not be ashamed (Romans 10: 11), just has the widow called upon Elisha, and she was not put to shame. Jesus is waiting for you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He is knocking at the door of your heart right now. Will you let Him? Open your heart to Him and He will come in.
Jesus said “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11: 28). The creditors were coming to take these widow sons as there slave, but she cried to the prophet Elisha. Today if you can cry to the Lord Jesus you will be saved for whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved (Romans 10: 13).
Will you call upon Jesus today and be saved. “For with the heart one believes unto righteous and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10: 10).
Just say this prayer, believe it in your heart and confess with your mouth you shall be saved.
LORD JESUS CHRIST, I CONFESS YOU AS MY LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOUR. I BELIEVE YOU DIED AND ROSE AGAIN FOR MY SALVATION. LORD JESUS, COME INTO MY HEART, FORGIVE ME MY SINS AND CLEANSE ME WITH YOU BLOOD. I RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE INTO MY SPIRIT. THANK YOU JESUS FOR SAVING ME. AM NOW A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN (AMEN).
I see God blessing and lifting your head up above all your enemies. You will be above only and not beneath. The Lord will show you a sign, a miracle for good that those who hate you will see it and be ashamed. The Lord will be your shield and exceeding great reward in Jesus name. Never forget: Christ in you, the hope of glory.
